Alternate and pinnately compound, the glossy celery-like leaves are comprised of 3 to 5 ovate to oblong ovate 1 ¼ to 2 ¾" leaflets. The margins are deeply incised or lobed, especially on the basal pair of leaflets and serrate. The incisions may be deep enough to make the leaves bipinnately compound. The leaves are clustered at the ends of the vertical stems.
