Wisteria macrostachya
Kentucky wisteria

Bluish-lavender fragrant flowers are borne in 8 to 12" long dense pendulous racemes, appearing in early to mid-June, after the leaves have emerged. The flower display is less dramatic than that of Wisteria floribunda, however it occurs later and lasts 2 to 4 weeks, thereby making a valuable garden addition. The flowers open first at the base and opening proceeds toward the tip. A white flowered form is available.
