Viburnum rhytidophyllum
Leatherleaf viburnum

Naked, foliose and tomentose, the large ½ to 1" rust colored vegetative buds are linear-lanceolate in shape. The stalked tomentose flower buds are brown to gray-brown, tomentose, 1 to 2" in diameter and more loosely clustered than those of Viburnum x rhytidophylloides.
