Gorgeous clusters of highly glossy bright red drupes grace this plant from September to spring. The subglobose fruits are 1/4 to 1/3" in diameter. Over the course of the winter the drupes shrivel and take on the appearance of reddish raisins. Heavier crops of fruits are produced in the cooler northern climates than in hot dry areas.
