Broad ovate to ovate-oblong or elliptic, the 1 ½ to 2 ½" deciduous and pubescent leaves are similar to those of Viburnum carlesii except that they are more oblong and the margins have slightly larger, and more widely and irregularly spaced serrations. Although pubescent, the upper surfaces are also slightly glossier than those of Viburnum carlesii.
