Viburnum cassinoides
Witherod viburnum

Opposite, simple and elliptic to ovate, the 1 ½ to 4" deciduous leaves are thick and glabrous above with rounded bases, acute to slightly acuminate apices and remotely denticulate margins. The somewhat dull leaves are often folded along the prominent yellow midvein. The new leaves emerge with a very attractive strong bronzy-purple color.
