Tsuga canadensis
Canadian hemlock

Short, flattened and borne in two primary ranks, the 1/2 - 2/3" evergreen leaves are dark green above with two white bands below - adjacent to the midrib, appearing as if one faint wide band. The soft needles taper slightly from the base to the apex. They are 2-ranked with an extra row of small needles flattened along the top of stem.
