Taxus cuspidata
Japanese yew

The vegetative buds are 1/8 long, ovoid and glossy brown with keeled pointed scales. The male flower buds are obovate, 3/16" long and 1/8" wide and green turning yellowish brown over winter. The male flower buds are borne below the foliage. The scales are more sharp pointed than those of Taxus x media.
