Sambucus canadensis
Common elderberry

This species produces an excellent display of white flowers in late June or early July, lasting about 2-3 weeks, with some sporadic flowering thereafter. The individual flowers are 5-petaled and 1/4" across but occur in large 6-10" diameter cymes that are either flat-topped or somewhat dome-shaped.
