Salix caprea
Goat willow

Often sold in the trade as "pussy willow" because of its interesting silky pubescent flower buds that open in early spring, the goat willow is a large rounded and sometimes irregular shrub.

Habit:Rounded, often irregular unless pruned; multi-stemmed or single-stemmed possible
Size:15-25' high
Color:Dark green
Texture:Medium-fine
Hardiness:Zone 3b USDA, with some dieback in colder winters
Habitat:Europe - Asia - Iran
Family:Salicaceae
