Flame sumac

A suckering large shrub or small tree grown for its glossy winged foliage that turns brilliant shades of red or reddish purple in the fall.

Habit:Most commonly a broad spreading suckering shrub; occasionally pruned into a small tree
Size:Variable from 10-30' high, depending upon genetics, location and pruning; often 8-10' tall under cultivation
Color:Dark glossy green
Texture:Medium in summer becoming coarse in winter
Hardiness:Zone 4b USDA
Habitat:Maine - Florida - Texas - Wisconsin - Ontario
Family:Anacardiaceae
