Rhus chinensis
Chinese sumac

Thick and coarse, the yellow-brown young stems are covered with a very fine short pubescence on the current season's growth. Older stems become light gray and glabrous. The stems are heavily tan lenticelled and have raised leaf scars that are "C" shaped and surround the bud on 3 sides.
