Pyrus communis
Common pear

An old garden plant cultivated for centuries, the common pear produces sweet, edible fruit. Unfortunately, its susceptibility to fireblight tends to make it short-lived, limiting its use in the landscape.

Color:Glossy dark green in summer, turning yellow-green in autumn
