Prunus serrulata 'Kwanzan'
Kwanzan Oriental cherry

A popular form known for its very showy large double pink flowers, vase shaped habit and greater cold hardiness. Although most often sold as 'Kwanzan', the more appropriate name is 'Sekiyama'.

Habit:Stiffly vase shaped, frequently grafted on P. avium; lacking the graceful elegance of many cherries
Size:15-25' high
Color:Medium-dark green in summer
Texture:Medium-fine
Hardiness:Borderline Zone 5b/6a USDA; more cold hardy than most selections
