Parthenocissus tricuspidata
Boston ivy

The knobby stems are glabrous and grayish brown with prominent raised elliptical gray lenticels. The stems are squarish and have 5- to 12-branched tendrils that have small disk-like adhesive tips. Although the tendrils are shorter and smaller than those of Parthenocissus quinquefolia, the difference is hard to observe in the field when looking at a single specimen.
