Borne in clusters resembling grapes, the slightly showy 1/3" blue-black berries are covered with a white bloom and are borne from late August through December. The combination of the blue-black color covered with a waxy bloom, makes the fruits appear light blue in color. Although very interesting when viewed up-close, the light blue color gets lost in the foliage from a distance. The plant is therefore best used where it can be view up-close.
