Magnolia 'Ann'
Ann magnolia

The flowers are bright red-purple on the outside and most intensely colored at the base, fading towards the apex of the tepals, and white with a purple tint on the inside. The 4"-diameter flowers have 6 to 8 tepals and open in early to mid-April in central Illinois, earlier than the other Little Girl Hybrids. The flowers are described by Flint as having a cinnamon-like fragrance.
