Itea virginica
Virginia sweetspire

Culture: This species should be grown in acidic and moist soils, although plants in the Midwest appear to tolerate neutral sites. The plants will grow in heavy shade to partial shade and full sun if moisture is adequate.

This species has relatively few problems.

Usage: A nice species for the shrub border or foundation planting where its flowers and fall color can be appreciated.
