Alternate, simple and deciduous, the 1 1/2" - 3" leaves are elliptic or slightly obovate to lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, with serrate margins and light pubescence underside, at least on the veins. The medium green leaves have impressed venation and a slightly acuminate apex.
