Fothergilla major
Large fothergilla

Culture: Well drained acid to neutral soils are required for successful growth. It is usually grown as a container plant or sold B&B to make it easier to transplant.

There are no serious insect or disease problems.

Usage: This is an excellent spring flowering shrub with a memorable fall color. It has a nice neat growth habit if grown in full sun. In partial shade, it tends to be a little leggy. It can be used as a specimen, in the shrub border and for naturalizing. Find a place in the garden for this attractive native plant.
