Davidia involucrata
Dovetree

The actual flower is a small 3/4" diameter brush-like mass borne in May. The attractive part of the flower structure is the two showy white bracts. The upper bract is 3-4" long while the lower one is often 7" long. Unfortunately, this tree has an alternate year flowering tendency.
