Cornus kousa
Kousa dogwood

Raspberry-like in its appearance, the interesting fruits are actually a spherical syncarp of pinkish red drupes that are 3/4" in diameter, ripening in Aug.-Sept. The fruit are pendulously borne on 2" stalks and can be heavily borne. Although considered edible, they are mealy and offer little in the area of culinary delight. Selections with larger diameter fruits exist but are not widely available.
