The leaves are 1-2" long, light bluish green, needle-like and stiff, borne singly on long stems and whorled in clusters of 15 to 30 on short spur-like stems. New leaves are silvery blue to light blue in color and soft. The trees take on a light blue color as new foliage emerges in spring.
