Aronia melanocarpa
Black chokeberry

The leaves are alternate, simple, elliptic to obovate, 2 to 3" long with fine crenate-serrate margins and a smooth glossy upper surface. The leaves of this species are slightly wider than those of A. arbutifolia. Dark glandular hairs line the midrib and paired string-like stipules at the base of the petiole are sometimes present.
