Amelanchier laevis
Allegheny serviceberry

Borne alternately, the simple, elliptic-ovate to oblong leaves are 1 to 3" long and finely serrulate, with a rounded or cordate base and 12 to 17 pairs of veins. They are bronzy-purple when emerging, but unlike A. arborea, are devoid of pubescence.
